Solomon Bien is a Certified Public Accountant in Los Angeles. His practice focuses on Business Tax and Accounting for Income Tax under ASC 740 (formerly FAS 109).

Before starting his own tax practice, Solomon was a Tax Manager at KPMG LLP, where he gained extensive experience in Accounting for Income Taxes for a variety of public and private, domestic and multi-national companies. In addition to his client work at KPMG LLP, Solomon served as an instructor for trainings within the firm as well as for external continuing education courses.

As a tax consultant and advisor, Solomon recognizes that the people running a business on a daily basis best understand the specific needs, issues, and challenges of that business. There are three main elements to his approach, which facilitate his advising clients most effectively:

  • Spending time getting to know clients, their businesses, goals, and challenges by meeting with them regularly throughout the year.

  • Discussing issues with clients at the moment they arise. Proper tax and business planning can yield significant benefits, but must be done in a contemporaneous fashion – at the time when business decisions are being made and transactions carried out, rather than after the fact. Too often, businesses don't consider tax issues until their tax returns are being prepared, up to a year later.

  • Encouraging clients to drive the discussion based on their own identified needs, while advising them on tax law issues and changes that affect them. This process yields solutions that are specific and appropriate to the client.
